On Saturday 12th April 2014, Cal Performances presents an evening of contemporary music which will include Jonathan’s ‘Bird Concerto with Pianosong’. The concert will be performed by eco ensemble, “Berkeley’s new music ensemble-in-residence, ‘a dream team’ composed of ‘some of the most talented and experienced players in the new-music world,’ (New York Times)”, and conducted by David Milnes.
Cal Performances describes what the evening has to offer, “Inventive compositions by modern masters and fresh new voices explore the boundaries between electronic and acoustic sounds.” The performance takes place at the Hertz Concert Hall and begins at 8pm. Tickets cost $30, available from the Berkeley website.
As part of CalDay, the University of California, Berkeley’s open invitation for prospective students to explore the campus and find out more about the university, there is also an opportunity to attend an open rehearsal for the evening concert. The rehearsal is from 3pm until 4pm in the Hertz Concert Hall.
