To commemorate the passing of British composer Sir John Tavener and celebrate his music along with the music of Jonathan Harvey and Canadian composer Christos Hatzis, a concert entitled ‘Song for Athene‘ has been announced. The performance will take place at 8pm on 16th April 2015 in Toronto at the Royal Conservatory.
The Soundstreams website has confirmed that:
“Choir 21 and the Toronto Children’s Chorus collaborate in a program of highlights that also includes selections by his late compatriot Jonathan Harvey and Canada’s Christos Hatzis – composers with whom Tavener shared his passion for the universal power of spiritual expression through music.”
Tickets are available from the Royal Conservatory website.
